Without trying to place myself in the same league as the drivers who’ve gone before me – I do share something incredibly meaningful with them.
Like Liam Lawson, Louis Sharp, Richie Stanaway, and others, my car racing journey has begun under the mentorship of Dennis Martin. A former champion with an eye for raw talent, Dennis has launched countless professional motorsport careers from the pit lane of Sabre Motorsport.
I’m racing in the same cars, on the same circuits, and I’m guided by the same principles of grit, focus, and respect. Louis raced for Sabre in 2020, finishing 5th in the Manfeild Winter Series before moving to Formula Ford and catching the eye of Rodin Motorsport. From there, his path accelerated into British F4, GB3, and now FIA Formula 3.
Liam Lawson started with Sabre in 2015/16 and, like me, earned the Rookie of the Year title. His rise from Formula Ford to the Toyota Racing Series and onto Formula 1 is the stuff of dreams.
I am proud to follow in their footsteps of these Kiwi heroes. And I believe that with relentless hard work, unshakable focus, and the right backing, anything is possible.
